About the Event

Glastonbury is probably the most magical place in England. Land of Druids, Witches and King Arthur.

Walking around this town and visiting some enchanting places will leave you feeling like you entered a world of fantasy.

On this tour, we will start by visiting Gog and Magog. Known as the ‘Oaks of Avalon’, the two trees are said to be a traditional point of entry onto the island.

The oak trees gained their names from a legendary race of giants who, save for Gog and Magog were slaughtered by Brutus and his Trojan army.

Gog and Magog were marched to London where they were held chained to the city palace, now the site of the London Guildhall.

Sadly, Gog is now dead but his remains are still there. Magog is also close to the end of her life. but to make a visit to these trees is to make a pilgrimage into the past.

From there we follow to Glastonbury Tor. This iconic hill has been a spiritual magnet for centuries, for both Pagans and Christians. Tales have grown out of history, becoming blended and embellished leaving the truth, whatever it was, literally lost in the mists of Avalon.

Down from the Tor, we visit the White Springs, which have healing powers and onto Glastonbury town, to the beautiful Abbey and King Arthur's Tomb.

The Abbey dates c. 700 - 1066 and what we have are well-maintained remainders of the original Saxon church. Within it lays Arthur's Tomb.

Please note that to enter the Abbey you will have to pay £11 which is not included in our fees. This is an optional part of the trip and you may choose to explore more of the town or settle down for a pint in one of the ancient pubs.
