Come and join us for what is a popular and probably the most fabulous coastal walk in the South East of England, with breathtaking views of the striking and dramatic white cliffs and a good proportion of the trail is up high on the cliffs as they loom down over the sea beneath.
There are some iconic views on this walk, and we'll get some fresh sea air high up on the cliffs. The Seven Sisters are a series of white chalk cliffs and are set within the Seven Sisters Country Park. They are remnants of dry valleys in the South Downs and were formed at the end of the last ice age by glacial meltwater. There are in fact now eight sisters as coastal erosion has created an extra one.
Our walk starts in Birling Gap where we park our minibus.
From there we walk clockwise first via East Dean village with a quick stop to take pictures of Sherlock Holmes home where he retired and spent his last years :-)
Up a lovely incline, we enter Friston Forest via farmlands, oak, pine and birch trees for an immersing experience to fill our lungs with clean air and our ears with the beautiful sounds only nature can offer.
At the end of Friston Forest, we walk sharply down to Exceat for a quick toilet break and then follow the Cuckmere River to Cuckemre Haven where we meet the Sisters for our last but hardest part of our hike with sweeping views of the coast.
Before continuing with our hike, we will stop at the beach for a dip in the water. Bring shoes to wear in the water as the pebbles hurt your feet.
