About the Event

Dash off with us for a trip to the border of England and Scotland.

First, we hike an extinct volcano, the Cheviot!

The Cheviot is the highest point in the Northumberland National Park at 815 metres. On a clear day, you can see as far as the Lake District and even, some claim, Edinburgh.

Scaling the Scottish Border, The Cheviots include vast swathes of Northumberland National Park – the least populated of all the UK’s national parks put together. Roam along lakesides, discover shrouded waterfalls and watch otters play from the riverbanks of this paradisiacal landscape.

On our last day, we visit a castle and walk along the coast side then head for a boat trip to the Farne Island where you will land for one hour to watch the island's fauna up and close. The boat trip is optional and if you prefer you can stay with me and go on an extra 2-hour adventure by the coast side or use that as free time to explore a local area.

HIKE TECHNICAL NOTE:

Total Ascent: 878 metres/2888 feet

Distance: 18 kilometres/11 miles

Length: 6 hours

Difficulty: Difficult to very difficult - some very steep ascent and descent, but no scrambling.
