The Peak District has been dusted with snow, making this the perfect time to visit for a Christmas themed hike.

This is a shorter hike to allow time for travel and to visit Chatsworth Gardens after dusk when it comes to life with Christmas lights.

Chatsworth House is one of the jewels in the Peak District crown and a fascinating place to spend a few hours of your day. This short loop from Bakewell is a great walk to experience this historic country house.

Leaving Bakewell you will pass the attractive woodland at the Manners Estate before dropping down to the picturesque village of Edensor. With its delightful tea room and church, Edensor is part of the Chatsworth estate, owned and operated by the Earl of Devonshire. And at its heart is of course Chatsworth House, one of the grandest houses in the country.

WHAT TO BRING

- Very warm and waterproof clothes, preferably hiking gear

- Waterproof hiking shoes and extra shoes and socks to change in the bus just in case your feet get wet

- A backpack for your things

- Masks (which must be worn inside the minibus)

On occasions, meeting location, time and other details might have to be changed and the event could also be cancelled last minute in case of extreme weather or other unexpected events.

2 - As with any road trip, there is a chance of heavy traffic, accidents and break-downs which could force us to skip parts of the trip, or stop it completely. We will do our best to make your day better, and of course to avoid any of these, but we expect your understanding on these occasions.

We will make a full refund if the trip is cancelled. No refunds will be made if only part of the trip was skipped.
