About the Event
Make the most of our extra May Bank holiday to visit Madeira, a very popular and lush island rich in natural beauty, mountains, lovely people and fantastic healthy food.
The island of Madeira is about twice the area of the Isle of Wight and slightly larger than Singapore island. Together with the islands of Porto Santo and Desertas and the Selvagens—Madeira forms an autonomous region of the country of Portugal. The climate is semi-tropical.
On this trip, we will stay in the capital city of Funchal and hike the two most popular routes with time to enjoy the nightlife of the island and maybe some beach time.

The hike from Pico do Arieiro to Pico Ruivo is the most famous hike on the island of Madeira in Portugal.
