About the Event
Dump the British Blus for the Spanish coast side where the weather is drier and double digits year-round with a great chance of seeing the sun!
Flights are super cheap in January, and you only need one day off work.
This trip includes accommodation in a nice hotel or villa, local travel and guided hikes with plenty of free time to explore the city.
Beyond its 16 sunny beaches, this Andalusian city on the shores of the Mediterranean has a fascinating cultural side. And the birthplace of Pablo Picasso has reinvented itself in recent years, inaugurating museums for all tastes.
If we take the combination of culture and the sea and add a lively atmosphere, numerous tapas served in bars, cutting-edge neighbourhoods like Soho, areas like the port that have transformed and become more modern, and monuments with centuries of history, the result is a city full of passion that anyone would want to explore.
Malaga is a city full of historic spots, like the Alcazaba, one of the largest Arab fortresses in Andalusia, or Gibralfaro Castle, which offers the best views over the whole city. At the foot of the castle, there is a Roman theatre and an old town to stroll around. As you walk through its streets, you'll find spots like the Atarazanas Market, where you can try a vermouth, and monuments like the Cathedral, which is known as “The One-Armed” (la manquita) due to its unfinished south tower. You can’t miss visiting its roof; it is a unique experience. Here in the city of Picasso, you can visit the excellent Picasso Museum in the centre and the home where he was born.
ESTIMATED ITINERARY

THURSDAY
Arrive in Malaga!
Fly anytime to Malaga and take a 30-minute bus or train ride to the city centre, or we will pick you up after 6 pm.
We will give you the address and check-in details for that accommodation closer to the date.
FRIDAY
After breakfast, we head to Malaga's most famous hiking trail. Although this is an easy hike on your legs, you must have a good head for heights.
CAMINITO DEL REY
Caminito del Rey, or The King's Little Path, is one of the most popular hiking trails in Malaga. Much of the hike stretches along narrow walkways that hug cliffsides and cross gorges. Unsurprisingly, this route had a dangerous reputation, but it has become much safer after restoration work in 2015.
At 7.7 km and with few climbs, Caminito del Rey is a relatively easy hike that takes around 2 hours to complete and is led by a local guide who will teach the history of this canyon.
If you prefer not to do this hike, you can join me on another walk in the region with beautiful views of the lakes.
We return to Malaga by 4 pm with time to spare for a local wander.
SATURDAY
We head for another hike, which will be chosen closer to the date and announced in our website or over email.
