Stay in a beachfront hotel with an indoor swimming pool, hot tub and sauna where you can relax your tired bones after a day hiking in the breathtaking Gower Peninsula!
This is our itinerary, on the hiking trips you can opt to stay at the hotel at any time.
9:30 am Meet at Hammersmith near the station (exact location to be disclosed nearer the date)
Drive 4 hours to our hotel
2 service station stops including one lunch stop
1:30 pm arrive at our hotel, check-in if possible or leave things in the bus and go to the beach
OPTION go to The Mumbles with the minibus to explore the tiny town and a 2-hour easy hike
Free time for the rest of the day
Dinner - eat with the group in the hotel or go on a private adventure in Swansea
If you are meeting us on Saturday morning, you will be picked up at 9 am from the station on our way to the hike. You will leave your things in the boot of the minibus and check into the hotel when we are back in the afternoon.
8 am Breakfast
9 am Leave the hotel to pick up anyone from the station and carry on to our hike
Rhosilli Bay, Stormy Castle and Worms Head
9 miles - moderate (wait for the group at a pub while we walk back to the minibus)
Ascent 200 metres
12 miles - hard
Ascent 400 metres
A splendorous hike that will allow you to experience the very best of the Gower Peninsula with beaches, Welsh moors, crags, hidden bays and the famous Worms Head which can only be crossed at low tide.
Both options of hikes will offer you all of this, and the longer hike will take you over the highest point of the region.
At the end of the day, you can look forward to a hot tub and sauna :-)
This hike begins and ends at a lovely pub where we can opt to dine or go back straight to our hotel.
9 am breakfast
10 am leave for another coast side hike, much easier than the day before
OPTION stay at the beach
Oxwich Point, Slade Bay, and Oxwich Castle
5 mile - easy
Ascent 200 metres
An easier hike with not much elevation, taking in the Oxwich Bay views and dunes.
5 pm (or earlier) Drive back to London
9 pm arrive at Hammersmith, London (traffic allowing)
WHAT TO BRING
You will receive a list of what to bring and other information closer to the date, sent to the email you used to book this trip
The basics are:
- Waterproof jacket
- Hiking or strong tennis shoes
- Sports clothes fit for the weather
- Refillable water bottle of at least 1.5 litres
We are happy to refund up to 60 days before the trip starts, after that we can only refund if we cancel the trip for any reason, which includes government restrictions.
Please take travel insurance in case you fall ill and can no longer attend the trip.
You may resell your place, but please speak with us first.
