Time & Location
About the Event
Elevation gain: 300 m
Route type: medium/circular
Let's visit one of England's most picturesque villages, which takes its name from the 12th-century castle which once stood a few metres North of current Castlecombe.
A historical place whose river had brought so much richness to its people at the time when the village was leading in the wool and cloth industry 6 centuries earlier.
Perfect place for the romantics and the photographers, you will be amazed at its beauty and history, from the Romans through the Middle ages, and the second world war when the RAF Castlecombe airfield was built.
This gorgeous green and stones patch in the heart of the country will be a marvel for the lovers of ancient beauties, filled with untouched traditional houses, bridges, woods, and hills.
This hike is perfection for couples or loners alike, there is something for everyone, beauty is the word that comes to mind when you enter those cobalt streets and stare at Britain's tradition.
