Lake District - 5 days of camping, hiking, having fun and not much sleep

The Lake District is a hauntingly beautiful corner of our planet and easily the most scenic place in England. The landscape is simply spellbinding: shadowy ridges gilded with golden light, shimmering meadows ablaze with wildflowers, and sparkling blue lakes that reflect the whole glorious scene.

The Lake District has some of the finest walking trails in the world and we will walk some of our favourite trails, plus throw in a few extra adventures.

• What you will see, do and experience:
• Hike around Buttermere Lake (easy)
• Hike up Helvellyn, voted the second favourite hike in Britain (hard)
• Hike Catbells with a little scrambling thrown in (moderate to easy)
• Climb the Via Ferrata Xteme in the Honister Pass slate mine (extra fee and an optional activity) (hard)
• Camp by a lazy river in a space that is ours only with toilet and showers available
• Campfire with marshmallows
• Camping breakfast 
• Opt-out of group activities for a little "me time"
• Swim in a lake

Other activities, walks and tours will be made available depending on the group's dynamic, weather and availability.

ROUGH ITINERARY

We have not yet set exact dates for our activities, as we will allow the weather, local COVID restrictions and other factors to dictate the best timing for them.

We will provide you with a more complete itinerary closer to the day of departure.

WEDNESDAY

8 am meet and drive from London

Total driving time - 6 hours plus 3 service station stops including 30 minutes for lunch

Go for a lovely walk by 3 pm, have a takeaway dinner and set up camp

THURSDAY

8 am camping breakfast - hot drinks, porridge, vegan cereals, eggs, bacon and bread

Leave camp when we are ready and go for a hike after buying packed lunches at a local store

Evening takeaway meal, or dinner at camp, or barbecue at a beach

FRIDAY

Similar to Thursday

Maybe go canoeing or paddleboarding in a lake 

Maybe go to a party if we are allowed yet

SATURDAY

8 am breakfast

On occasions, meeting location, time and other details might have to be changed and the event could also be cancelled last minute in case of extreme weather or other unexpected events.     

2 - As with any road trip, there is a chance of heavy traffic, accidents, and break-downs which could force us to skip parts of the trip, or stop it completely. We will do our best to make your day better, and of course to avoid any of these, but we expect your understanding on these occasions.     

3 - A full refund will be issued only if we cancel the whole trip.
