You Mudafaca! It is time to score one more mountain!

Cadair Idris is set in the South of Snowdonia and around one of the most beautiful Welsh conservation sites voted "Walks of a Lifetime Winner" by Trail Magazine readers.

On this trip, you will enjoy a lovely hike via a forest, a tarn and finally, the peak with incredible views over Snowdonia.

At the peak, there is a shelter where we can rest before heading back down.

At night, you will rest safely in a cosy dorm room in a peaceful location with its own lake.

The mountain has steep ascent and descent, so you must have good knees and stamina.

ITINERARY

Saturday

- 9 am, leave Hammersmith London and drive 5 hours to our hike, with 2 service station stops

- 3 pm, arrive at the foot of the trail and start our hike straight away, leaving overnight belongings in the minibus

- 8 pm, finish our hike just before dark and head to our accommodation

Sunday

- 8 am, breakfast

- 9 am, leave for another easier local hike

- 1 pm, drive to London

- 7 pm, our estimated time of arrival in London (please allow extra time for traffic)

FOOD

The hostel does not serve meals, but they have a self-catering kitchen with all the basic equipment.

Breakfast

- I will bring coffee, tea and porridge. You can buy a sandwich at an M&S in a service station or bring something to cook or reheat for yourself. The hostel does not serve breakfast

Lunches

- At a service station, on Sunday, we might go somewhere local for a takeaway meal.

Dinner on Saturday

- You will bring something from home, a sandwich from a service station, or you can cook in the kitchen, but be mindful that we will be back in the hostel by 9 pm.

WHAT TO BRING

- A waterproof jacket

- Hiking shoes

- Hiking clothes

- Warm layers and light layers to combine as needed

- A backpack

- Refillable water bottle for at least 1.5 litres

- Towel and your usual toiletries

Please come ready for a hike on Saturday and have extra clothes for a lighter hike on Sunday.
